This lesson covers two methods for writing the equation of a line when you know the slope and a point on the line. The first method involves writing the equation in y=mx+b form and solving for b, while the second method involves using the point-slope formula. The point-slope formula allows you to plug in the slope, as well as the x and y coordinates of the point, to get the equation in point-slope form. This can then be simplified to the slope-intercept form if needed.
This video covers how to find the equations of lines if you know the slope and a point. Goes over the point-slope formula. This is part 19 of a series of videos about graphing lines.
