In the Standard Form of a line, the coefficient of x should be a positive integer, so we should multiply the equation by -1 to get 6x - 4y = -42.

This lesson shows how to change a linear equation into standard form. Then, using the standard form of the line, it is easy to find the x-intercept and y-intercept of the line by plugging 0 into y and 0 into x respectively. Each step in solving is shown. The final x-intercept is (-7, 0) and the y-intercept is (0, 10.5).
