Solving Equations by Balancing
- Positive Algebra balance problems - A website with a bank of one variable equations with positive coefficients which uses a visual approach to solve.
- Negative Algebra balance problems - A website with a bank of one variable equations with negative coefficients which uses a visual approach to solve.
- How do you balance an equation?
- How do you solve an equation?
- How do you check a solution?
- What is a real-world example for an equation?
- How do you use Algebra tiles to solve an equation?
A very good discussion of solving equations. Very clear, step-by-step explanations are given for several different problems. Solving equations is shown in several different ways and explained very well. A good video to watch if you are learning about solving / balancing equations. The only drawback is the background noise.
The only thing I would suggest is actually doing the examples on the screen vs. throwing them out there and not explaining them. While an explanation is given initially - its always helpful to work through each and every example given.
