Stamp Problem
- How do you write an equation for and solve a stamp problem in Algebra?
- If Jerry has some 3-cent stamps and 29-cent stamps worth $1.54, and the number of 29-cent stamps is four less than three times the number of 3-cent stamps, how many 29-cent stamps does he have?
- How do you solve 3x + 29(3x - 4) = 154?
This stamp problem is very similar to the coin word problems in Algebra. The way that is shown to solve this problem is using a chart, and using the clues in the problem and the chart to write and solve an Algebraic equation. Finally, the solution is checked. All steps are shown in this stamp problem.
