Part of video series Graphing Lines
Taught by YourMathGal

### Meets NCTM Standards:

More free YouTube videos by Julie Harland are organized at http://yourmathgal.com
This video puts it all together...how to write equations of lines, stating the x and y intercepts, using the slope point formula, graphing the line, etc. This is part 20 of a series of videos about graphing lines.
• If you are given a point on a line and its slope, how do you write the equation of the line, state the intercepts of the line, and graph the line?
• How do you write the equation of the line passing through (-2, 1) with slope 3/4 in standard form, state the x-intercept and y-intercept, and graph the line?
• How can you use point-slope form of a line to write an equation in standard form?
• How can you find the x-intercept and y-intercept of a line in standard form?
• How do you graph a line in standard form if you know the x-intercept and y-intercept of the line?
• How can you check to make sure that you graphed an equation correctly?
• How can you write the equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through (-2, 1) and has slope 3/4 by solving for b?
This video puts all of the concepts learned in the last few lessons together by writing an equation from the slope and a point on the line, finding the intercepts of the line, and graphing the line. Many skills are used in this lesson, and all 3 forms of a line (slope-intercept, standard, and point-slope) are used.
